The Manna just keeps coming!

Today was another wonderful day! I decided to forego exploring Palgongsan (by myself) for another time, go to church in the morning and join the group that I'd heard was going to go hiking. Church was good - a girl in the congregation had received a call with similar news that I received in an email a few months before - another car accident - and after hearing the writer's story the congregation sang 'It Is Well With My Soul'. It was hard, but it was also really good. I think it was the first time I'd let the tears flow for Matt outside of my apartment and throughout the song, in the sadness, I took joy in bringing back memories of so many of the really good times I'd had with him.

After church and a few quick stops a group of nine of us headed off to a mountain not far from the church. I was super eager and hyped to hike so I took off ahead by myself for a bit of it to go at a pace where conversation was impossible but I also rejoined the group and had a really good time of sharing and laughing and just enjoying creation. I talked a lot with one girl in particular - Andrea - and I hope that our friendship grows. She strikes me as just a very real person. Full of life and energy and heart. At one point, in another one of my short excursions away from the group I discovered a new little viewing spot that was just beautiful - the city view was to our left but on the right there was sheer tree covered mountains. A rest I'll definitely return to. I also took off a bit and climbed a rock formation. It was super crazy and I experienced some vertigo but it was good too, really good. I was also able to call to my friends who were a few minutes ahead at another peak and get them to snap some shots of me. Unfortunately by the time they did I was just about through handling my fear (there was a bit of a wind too and whoever knows me knows I'm not the most balanced person so I ended up on my hands and knees, haha, for fear I'd kill myself!)

Most of the group took a cable car down but Andrea, Won, and I finshed the hike with the ever perilous downward route (jokes, it wasn't bad). To close the day, I met up with my friend Owen (guy in the burgundy t-shirt) near his place for dinner and after chilling with him for a bit got a call from a Korean friend I haven't seen in over a month on my way home. It's amazing - or rather, God's amazing. I was feeling so much like I was living to myself and needing people this week and then God just threw so many 'people' times in my lap! And wonderful people as well. Yep, may come in different forms but I'm thankful He's still sending that Manna.
Yesterday,Today, and Forever.

The comment I made on the next blog was meant for this one. Also the pictures are great...everything looks so beautiful and it was fun to read. Also the day at the orphanage in next blog sounds like it was a great experience. I only had three little boys this morning in church but they were fun.
