Hula Hoops and Mountains!

Friday October 6th, 2006

Mom, Dad and I had planned to hit up another Korean festival in a nearby city but seeing as we were all a little worn out and had 4 days at Jeju Island to come we decided to just spend some time in Daegu. I can’t remember much of what we did – which is probably because we didn’t really do much but Mom and I did go on a hike. I think the first mountain my mom had hiked since she was living in Jamaica many moons ago. It was a good day for it and a good time together. We trekked up the slopes, taking our time, enjoying the views that popped up every now and then and discovering a (albeit somewhat ghetto) lovely exercise park. After walking near two hours – not knowing whether the trail would go on for days or come out to a main road we decided to head back and let Dad know of the beauty he’d missed. ;)

Wow...it took us 3 and a half hours in extreme heat...the scenery was breathtaking, we came upon many, many burial mounds, met lots of Koreans visiting deceased relatives and walked forever...my feet hadn't hurt so much in years and years...and she writes only a few words. Hmmm!!!!
