Sante Fe (cont'd) - Cave and final days in Bantayan
We'd heard that Ogtong Cave on the island was a site to see so we decided to trek there by walking along the beach and what a trek it was!
When we got to the site we learned we could only access the cave through a resort - we hat to pay 120 P to enter an it closed at 6 (it was past 3). We went in and although the cave was nice it was very small and very . . . maintained. Even had electric lights. Still, it was refreshing to explore a little farther than the Korean tourists there had ventured and to float around in the cool water.
A little later we had our own picture taking of locals thrown back at us. Some Filippino vacationers asked to take pictures with both Reen and me.
---------------------------------------------
My last day on Bantayan was spent in bed trying to give Ricky some rest to start to heal. Very sad as Serne went off trekking through the jungle to find Paradise Island -coming back with some adventure stories involving puppies, children, trespassing, and a gun . . .
In the evening I finally got up and decidd to go for a little walk. A guy named Vincent started talking to me and we ended up going through a bunch of small vilaage communities going on a long walk so he could show me some other beaches, the port, etc.
He seemed like a nice guy, an automotive mechanic who lived in Cebu city and wanted to move somewhere abroad. Later that evening I wen ton motorbike with him and his friend Rhyan who'd been a mountaineer (after meeting his father and aunt and uncle) -------- I can't find the rest of this entry in my journal! Weird - rather then rewrite perhaps I'll find it and finish another time. The story does get a little interesting! ;)
